The first quarter of 2021 has seen notable trends in the navigation and maps category across Latin America on a unified platform. Sensor Tower provides insights into how these applications have performed in terms of downloads and weekly active users.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic, despite experiencing a slight downward trend in downloads from 450K in the last week of December to 332K by the end of March, maintained a strong user base with weekly active users starting at 12M and ending the quarter at 9.3M.
Google Maps also saw a decrease in downloads, starting at 190K and dropping to 179K in the same period. Weekly active users showed a more significant decline, from 15.6M at the beginning of the quarter to 14.2M by its end.
Google Earth presented a more varied download pattern, peaking at 143K in late January before falling to 107K by the end of March. Active users saw a modest rise from 929K to 970K in early March, but then dropped to 931K.
